The Shoddy Doggie Folk Club was founded in January 1998 when the hugely successful Bag o’ Shoddy Folk Club disbanded.

Now at the Old Shoulder of Mutton in Batley Carr (see news) it had a period at the Wine and Spirit
Vaults in Birstall before moving to the Station Hotel on Crackenedge Lane in Dewsbury. Positioned adjacent to the market place, the club room has housed other folk clubs over the years.

The ‘Shoddy’ has a nucleus of seasoned performers and a large base of regulars who subscribe to
ensure the success of the folk club.
